My research interests are mainly related to Information Retrieval Evaluation:

• Methodologies for evaluation of IR systems.
• Effectiveness measures.
• Reliability and statistics.
• Low-cost evaluation.
• Relevance judgments.
• Crowdsourcing for evaluation.
• Meta-evaluation.

I do some particular research on Music Information Retrieval:

• Melodic similarity.
• User aspects of music similarity.

I enjoy general aspects of Science and research too:

• Design of experiments.
• Data analysis.
• Philosophy of Science.

I have also done some work on Named Entity Recognition and Software Engineering.
